Built for the way producers actually sample
Load it, chop it, play it. No project setup, no bounce-and-rename, no guessing the tempo.
Straight from a YouTube Link
This is the magic. Paste a YouTube link to a track you have the rights to use, and SLYCE pulls the best audio stream YouTube serves, decodes it exactly once to 24-bit WAV, and has it on the waveform ready to chop in seconds. No screen recording, no bounce, no rename. Your own files drop straight in too, and the UI always shows the true source codec, bitrate and sample rate.
TEMPO LOCK
One click detects the BPM, downbeat and musical key, with a confidence rating for each. Not sure? An online lookup checks public BPM databases and links its source. Confirm or override, then snap chops to the grid or auto-chop every 1, 2, 4 or 8 beats.
Sixteen Playable Pads
Every chop lands on a pad you can play from the keyboard, exactly like a hardware sampler. Audition, refine the chop points on the waveform, and add fades from 0 to 50 ms when you want them. Zero processing on your audio otherwise.
Ableton Live Export
One click writes a Simpler preset in Slice mode with your exact chop positions and warp markers at the confirmed BPM, straight into your User Library. Verified inside Ableton Live 12.
FL Studio Export
A Fruity Slicer channel preset with your chops mapped one key per slice, plus the source WAV. Loads as a ready-to-play channel, verified in FL Studio 2025.
MPC and Logic Export
An Akai MPC drum program (.xpm) with a chop per pad, and a Logic Pro Sampler instrument (.exs) with a chop per zone from C3 up. Both are built to each format's published structure and round-trip validated against real reference files.
Three steps from idea to instrument
1. Load
Paste a YouTube link to a track you have the rights to use, or drop in your own WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3 or M4A. SLYCE grabs the best audio stream and decodes it once, losslessly, to 24-bit WAV.
2. Chop
Click the waveform to place chops by hand, or run TEMPO LOCK and auto-chop on the beat. Every chop is sample-accurate and lands on a playable pad.
3. Export
Pick your DAW. SLYCE writes the native preset and the WAVs, named with tempo and key, into the right folder so they are waiting for you when you switch over.
System requirements
- macOS 11 or later (Intel native; Apple Silicon via Rosetta), or Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
- Standalone app. Everything is built in, nothing else to install.

- Exports load in Ableton Live, FL Studio, Akai MPC software and hardware, and Logic Pro (macOS) via the Sampler instrument.
SLYCE is for use with content you have the rights to sample: your own recordings, licensed sample packs, stems from your collaborations, or any audio you are cleared to use. You are responsible for the rights to the material you load.
TRYKZ SLYCE questions, answered
Does SLYCE work on Windows as well as Mac?
Yes. SLYCE is a standalone app for macOS 11 or later and Windows 10 or later (64-bit). One £80 licence covers you, with the key emailed the moment you buy. Both downloads are on the downloads page.
Can SLYCE find the BPM and key of a sample?
Yes. TEMPO LOCK analyses the audio on your machine and shows the BPM, downbeat and musical key with a confidence rating for each. An optional online lookup cross-checks public BPM databases and links its source, and you can always type your own values. Once confirmed, the tempo and key are stamped into every exported file name and preset.
Which DAWs and samplers does SLYCE export to?
One click writes a native Ableton Live Simpler preset in Slice mode with warp markers, an FL Studio Fruity Slicer channel preset, an Akai MPC drum program (.xpm) for MPC software and hardware, or a Logic Pro Sampler instrument (.exs), always alongside sample-accurate 24-bit WAV chops.
Is it legal to sample from YouTube?
The tool you capture with does not change the rights position of the audio: releasing a sample of a recording you do not control needs clearance, whatever the source. SLYCE is built for content you have the rights to use, such as your own uploads and stems, licensed material and purchased sample packs, and for private practice flips. You are responsible for the rights to what you load.
